Being an example, part 1

As Christ disciples we are to be a example to christens and non- believers. It’s so important to show love to people Christ love. People want what they don’t have, when people love each other right where they are with know strings attached to the unbeliever, that doesn’t make sense. That doesn’t mean that you have to love the sin but you need to love the sinner, Christ did. This opens the door to the unbeliever. Because ever thing in this world is conditional so to have someone love you unconditionally makes you realize that person has something that you don’t and you start to long for that.

 

Love

Matt 5:43-44 “You have heard that it was said, ‘you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ but I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.”

 

 

Prov 10:12

 “Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins.”

 

Mark 12:29-31

Jesus answered him, “the first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, o Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this:’ You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.”

 

The Lord wants us to love and it says pray for your enemies and people who persecute you. Jesus knows that first hand while we nailed him to the cross for are sins and tried to brutally destroy him he said father forgive them they do not know what they do. Now that is true love. So we need to keep that in mind when we are dealing with other people and learn to love the way Christ did.

 

Secondly are we being living sacrifices? If we are it will be easy to love.

 

Romans 12:1-2 “There for, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to god-this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

 

God doesn’t want us to stay in the same pattern we were in. He wants us to be a living sacrifice for him open to him so we can reach people. The only way to do that is having something that offers something that the world doesn’t have witch is Christ. But if we say to them I have something to offer you. And where doing the same things they are or acting harsh toward one another there going to ask them self’s what’s the difference from other people who aren’t claming Christ and them who are.

 

  We have to be a good example so people will want what we have and the only way to do that is to stay close to Christ focus on his ways. Are ways get us in trouble and edify the flesh witch is selfishness. But Gods ways are strait and narrow and will bring us life. We need to truly love people the way Christ loved them it not about us it’s about Christ and we need to show that to others. That’s why were here to get saved study his word then be disciples and get them saved and make more disciples.

Being an Example

As Christ disciples we are suppose to be an example to Christians and non-believers. I have talked to a lot of people about believes and religion. A lot of them have some awful horror stories about Christians or so called Christians and they wonder what the deference is in being a Christian if they act the same as non- believers lot of there morals are even the same. So what’s the problem?

Are we being living sacrifices?
Romans 12:1-2
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Blessings to being obedient
1 kings3:14
“And if you walk in my ways and obey my statutes and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life.”

2 Chronicles 7: 14
“If my people, who are called by name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, Then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal there land.”

Those are awesome blessing if we will just obey.

Were supposed to have the fruit of the spirit.
 Gal 5:22-23
But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self- control. Against such things there is know law.

So the question is “what kind of fruit are we producing the fruit of the spirit or rotten fruit?”

And if we are producing rotten fruit we need to recognize it and ask for forgiveness and he will forgive. Then turn away from it and start reading the word and praying so we can learn how to produce the right fruit.

Matt 7:7-8
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seek finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

How to fight strongholds

Realizing you have a problem. God doesn’t expect us to be perfect he knows we will fall down some times. What he expects is once we realize we have a problem repent and ask God for help to help us conquer the problem.

The next step is conquering deception, which is the problem, with the truth, the word of God. Where ever your problem is in your life look up scriptures dealing with that problem so God can strengthen you in that area.
   Romans 12:2
     “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good pleasing and perfect will.”

God has a will for each and ever one of us we have a purpose but its are job to get right with the Lord. Which is asking him in to are heart and truly meaning it because if you don’t truly mean it God knows that to. Asking him to for give are sins and make us whole. Then God will be able to show us his will and his plans in are lives.

Jeremiah 29:11
  “For I know the plans I have for you, ”declares the Lord, ”plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ‘
The next step is draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Which means spending time with him weather its listening to worship music and singing to him, praying to him and taking time to listen to him or reading the bible or other christen books.

Matthew 11:28
  “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Think about what you’re thinking about.
One way to conger strongholds is to think about what you’re thinking about.

Philippians 4:8
 “Finally, brothers whatever is true, what ever is noble, whatever is Right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, and whatever is admirable If anything praise worthy think about such things.

So if what your thinking about  doesn’t line up with the word get rid of it it’s trash. If you ever feel like your being attacked with thoughts that you seem like you can’t get rid of. You need to speak scripture over it. What ever the problem may be because the word has power over the Devil and if you speak you can’t think about what the thought is, when you get a thought speak scripture and it will interrupt your previous thought.
We need to watch what we here.
If you don’t want strongholds in your thinking pay attention to what you listen to if it’s not Philippians 4:8 then you probably shouldn’t be listening to it. If were listening to sad songs all day were gone to be sad and negative. If were listening to bad language all day were gone to have bad language.

So we need to be careful what we listen to.

We need to be careful what we see.
Where suppose to be the temple of God.

 1corinthians 3:16-17
   “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you. If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple”.

So when we watch things that are not pleasing to God were corrupting his temple.
These are all strongholds, if you watch bad things you can get addicted to it like porn or adultery that’s suppose to be good humor in the worlds eyes but in God’s eyes its sin
Which separates us from God.

And if your like a lot of people we have already seen bad we can’t change it and heard bad .So we need to start filling are self’s with God word to clean out all the corrupt nastiness so God can make us clean. He will if we want him two.
Lastly be careful what you believe. You can’t be driven bye your emotions all the time are emotions are not reliable. Are emotions will bring us up and down like a roller coaster.

Life by the spirit
Galatians 5: 16-26
  “So I say, live by the spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The acts of the sinful nature are obvious :sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and withcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy ,fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Againt such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Strongholds in Our Minds

STRONGHOLDS IN ARE MINDS
2CO 10:3-6
“For though we live in the world we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.”

There’s all kinds of strongholds the devil set up in are life’s. Remember he knows all personalities and he had a long time to study us. He can even set up strongholds when were little. Say a little girl was sexual abused from the time she’s little by her father and she deals with it her whole life. Satan could be whispering in her ear from the time she little if you were a boy this wouldn’t of happened to you. If you were a man you could do what ever you want. It’s absolutely wonderful to be a man.

So as she grows up she hates men and starts to say to her self when I’m a adult know one going to tell me what to do. I’m my own boss. I will not let any one push me around. As she becomes an adult she grows up with self-steam problems, anger issues. When someone tries to talk to her about Christ she’s willing to try something new but it’s hard because if her father in heaven is anything like her father on earth she rather not know him at all. That is how Satan can set up a stronghold. Satan wants to make something bad that has happened to us or something we can get addicted to like porn, anger, bitterness, money and envy. To consume us so we can’t help or prosper the kingdom of God. Which is the whole reason were here, is to get saved learn what real love is from are heavenly father and save others so we can be with Christ for eternity. One thing I would like to say is if you have any of these problems rejoice Satan only bothers you because he knows you are worth something wonderful he knows what potential you have remember he has been studying you a long time. He only bothering you because he knows if you can conquer these strong holds you will do awesome things for the Lord.

Jer 29: 11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

The bad that happens isn’t Gods fault we live in a fallen world a world full of sin and disobedient’ s were people have know reverence for God. Bad things can happen to us but what Satan intends for bad God can use for good. We need to start using the word of God to fight our battles and stop thinking we can do it are self’s we can’t do it are self’s that why we have a savior and the holy spirit to help us.

John 14:26-27
“But the counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”.

The word is the sword it is the weapon that we use against the enemy.
Eph6: 17
“Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.”

Heb 4:12
“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

So we need to constantly look to the scriptures to help us take out the Devil you are not here just by chance. If you have these problems remember you are a threat to Satan or he wouldn’t waste time on you. So I just pray write now if you don’t know the Lord and you want him to come in to your life. Tell him you want to be his and if you mean it and ask for forgiveness of your sins he will for give you and you will be saved. Then find a good church to help you learn the word and then all these things I talked about will apply to you. If you are already saved then I encourage you to read these scripture. I gave and look scriptures up in the areas your dealing with so the Lord can strengthen you and help you be all you can be for him.

DISAGREEMENTS AMONG BELIEVERS

Conflict and disagreements between us happen. Sometimes we’re unable to see eye to eye with another person on particular issues, sometimes our conflicts simply come from misunderstanding and poor communication, whatever the case may be. From time to time we will run into problems with other people. We must expect to encounter conflicts. We see here some conflict in Acts:

ACTS15: 36-41
 Then after some days Paul said to Barnabas “Let us now go back and visit
Our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord and
See how they are doing” now Barnabas was determined to take with him
John called Mark but Paul insisted that they should not take with them the
One who had departed from them in Pamphylia, and had not gone with them
To do the work then the contention became so sharp that they parted from
One another and so Barnabas took Mark and sailed to Cyprus; but Paul                                       
Chose Silas and departed being commended by the brethren to the grace of
God he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthen the churches.

So who do you think is right? They’re both right, both of the opinions of Paul and Barnabas is valid and truthful. In verse 39-41 we read about the solution Paul and Barnabas came up with for the problem Paul and Barnabas divide up the territories they had visited. Barnabas takes Mark to Cypreus to see how the disciples are doing there. Paul takes Silas and they go through Syria and Cilicia strengthening the churches. We see the reason for the dispute we looked at in this lesson.

People have different back grounds and opinions from time to time we will have disagreements because we don’t see eye to eye and were different types of people.

So what are we to do about this?
Tell others?

Now Paul and Barnabas did not drag on the dispute and go to everyone to tell them what had happened. Sometimes it is tempting because we want to justify are point because we feel we been done wrong. But we need to let God take care of that.

Prov 20:19
A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid a man who talks too much.

I know a lot of people   including my self who can talk too much some times so we need to be careful of what we say. God gives certain people that gift but we need to make sure were using it accordingly to prosper God kingdom not to tear it down.

Prov 11:13
A talebearer revealeth secrets; but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

The second question is.  Do we complain?
Many times we will just complain about the situation .If we can’t have things are way like it will make us feel better or something but it just drags you down further a exhaust you more. I’m very guilty of that I can be very inpatient and I just want it now like that baby were still waiting for.

So what does God say about complaining?
Eph 4: 29
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Or do we give the cold shoulder or lash out?
We either wait until we get so upset we explode and say all kinds of things we don’t mean, but we can’t take back once there said. Or we go the other way “well ever time I say something it’s wrong so I’m just not going to not say anything at all and they’ll get the hint”. That I’ am upset.

Do we really think that intentionally ignoring someone in an attempt to either hurt another’s feelings or to make a point ”is acceptable? Neither is lashing out at someone just to unload on them. These reactions are not acceptable and are not found in the scriptures as righteous.
So what are we to do?

Try and work it out maybe were wrong and we need to apologize.
If so we need to ask the Lord for forgiveness, and confess are sin to him.
Then go to that person and apologize and ask for forgiveness and if they accept great and if they don’t you did your part now it up to them.

Over look it. We must realize we won’t see eye to eye on all matters.
Many times the reason a conflict starts are because we don’t understand were the person may be coming from.

Move forward
Were not always gone to be able to change people’s minds and that o.k. We need to make a choice to move forward.

Unite under a common cause?                                                                                                                                  
We’ll not all believe things alike. Therese many things will disagree on. Paul and Barnabas disagreed about what to do with Mark but they united under the common cause of Christ and the desire to help the Disciples in the cities. Paul and Barnabas had to work for the Lord and there disagreement would not stop them from their work.

 2Cor 10:5
We demolish arguments and ever pretensions that set its self
Up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every
Thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Now we know how to solve conflict in the right manner it tells us how 2Cor
And we also know the wrong ways of handling things witch is cold shoulder, lashing out, gossip, complaining, I pray that if you think you may have a problem in this area. Or you know you do confess to God and he will help you. And if your not sure you have a problem with it. Pray for God to reveal it to you I promise he will show you what ever you need to know.

Positive Thinking

It’s so important to have positive thinking. Because what we believe & think is what comes out of our mouths and life’s.

        PHILLIPANS 4:8
        “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right,                   
        Whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, and whatever is admirable if anything is
         Excellent or praise worthy think about such things.”

There’s a reason for that God knows normal fleshly like people its so easy for us to think bad things its are nature. That’s why we need to have the mind of Christ and study the word and pray develop a relationship with Christ. The Holy Spirit will start to convict us when were thinking wrong things and pull up things in are minds that we read in the word that we should be thinking about Christ like thinking.

 
  ROMANS 13:14
 “Rather, clothe your selves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about     
 how to gratify the desires of sinful nature.”

You may be thinking that’s so hard how will I do that. The answer is you won’t, you have to let God do it its not your job. Your job is to submit to the Lord so he can do a work in you and ask the Lord for what you need he is know respecter of persons.   

 PHILLILANS 4:13
 I can do all things through Christ that strengthen me.”

Are minds are like file cabinets the more junk we put in the more junk that will come out in our thinking and speaking. But as we put positive thinking in place and what the word says we start to over load our file cabinet and start taking that junk and throwing it away. So we have room for the things that are good and bring life.

   JOHN 10:10
 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have
 Come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

So when we think bad thoughts all of the time what does it do? It steals our joy, it messes with our emotions it distorts our thinking. When we say no to the Devil and yes to God what happens is we become joyful, happy, may even get healed we feel good we don’t have a headache, stomachache, and sore joints from thinking bad things all the time. So I just pray that if you have a problem that you will give it to the Lord and ask him for help he will help you. So you can be in the will of God and have positive thinking.

Where do we get our self worth

                               
  A lot of people have a low self-esteem they feel worthless, depressed, inadequate or maybe they lost there job or spouse or have had a bad child hood there are many reasons. But one thing we cannot let happen is circumstances and things that happen depend on our self worth. We have to focus on Jesus and what the word says.                                                            

                                                        

  Luke 13:10-13
“Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath and behold, there was a women who had a spirit of infirmity.” means (of body or mind).                      

She had the infirmity for eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise her self-up. But when Jesus saw her, he called her to him and said to her, women, you are loosed from your infirmity. He laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God, We to can be loosed from are infirmities. We have to make sure we have a relationship with Christ, pray, and read the word keep our focus on God. He is self worth, he made us and he loves us.

            Palms 139:13-16
            “For you formed my inward parts; you covered me in my mothers womb. I will praise you. For I’m fearfully and wonderfully made Marvelous are your works and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from you. When I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed and in your book they were written the days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.”

God tells us who we are. We are wonderfully and fearfully made. To know he made us and he decides what personality we would have. Who we would look like whether we would be big or small or short or tall. God cares and God loves us. We need to get our self worth from him no one else. People make mistakes and let us down. God will lead us in the right direction. He’ll tell us how to handle our marriage, he’ll let us know that our child hood is not us but that we are a new creation and old things pass away. When were depressed if we look to him he’ll tell us who we are and that he is our comforter. He is all we need. He’ll give us strength when we need it.

             Palms18:32
            “It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect”.
So we have to look to God, he’s strength and he’ll make are paths right.

 

Dealing with Fear

What is fear?

In 2 Tim 1:7
 Says, ”For God did not give us a spirit of fear, or (timidity), but of power, and of love, and of sound mind”

 So fear is actually a spirit and it doesn’t come from God so we know it comes from the other kingdom, which is Satan, fear separates us from God, it’s the opposite of what  God gives.

In Gal 5:22-23
 Says, “But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith gentleness and self control”

 So we see God gives faith not fear. Fear is a sin it’s putting more faith in your problem or fear. Then having faith to believe God is bigger then your problem.

In Josh 1:9
 Says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go”

I remember before I got saved I was so afraid of everything I took a pill to get up a pill to go to bed and pills in between to help me function during the day. My first husband cheated on me and did all kinds of things behind my back. I didn’t figure that out until years after we where married because I was trying to function from day to day I was diagnosed with Schizophrenia I heard voices that I couldn’t control that would tell me to kill my self and hurt others. That made me afraid of my self I didn’t know that Satan could put things in your head or that demons could talk to you. I also had seen things that weren’t there. I was so afraid I spent a lot of time in the hospital. I didn’t know that God loved me and I didn’t know that he could heal me either. Satan had many strong holds in my life.

How do we deal with fear?

First getting salvation asking Jesus Christ in to your heart and asking him to for give your sins. Then turn away from those sins and you shall be saved if you truly mean it in your heart. Then bye studying the word and speaking the word out loud and by prayer and praise, and believing what the word says

In 2 Co 10:5
 Says, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth it self against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”,

When I started getting healed from the Schizophrenia Satan would tell me all kinds of things, like “You’ll never make it, this is a waist of time anyway, go off your medicine yeah write your crazy” I had to learn to tear down strong holds that Satan put in my mind and cast him out. So I could get back in line with the word I constantly had to cast Satan out. And I would sing praise music to the Lord to stop Satan from trying to put thoughts in my head. When I did the dishes or cleaned the house I would have my New Testament tapes playing all the time so Satan couldn’t bother me. As I learned the word of God he completely healed me. I never knew how much power the word had until I started reading the word and speaking it then I wasn’t a afraid any more I learned who I was in Christ and that Satan is limited to what I’ll allow in my life and in my head.

So we know that fear is a spirit.

That it’s a sin against God.
That fear is not from God
That we deal with fear by Prayer, praise and by learning the word and speaking the word, beleving what it says and if where not write with the Lord asking him in to are hearts. Asking for forgiveness, then turning away from those sins and you shall be saved if you truly meant it in your heart. And once you’re saved all of the things we talked about apply to you.

Who would jesus vote for?

What does God think the most important issues are in this election? Aboration, Gay Rights. And taken God out of the nation.

In ISASIAH 44:24
Says” This is what the Lord says your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb; I am the Lord, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by my self,”

God alone made us he didn’t need are help. Yet we try to decide weather someone should be put to death or not it’s not up to us.

In PROVERBS 6: 16-17-18
Says “there are six things the lord hates seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes (means proud look) a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.”

So now we know why abortion is wrong because god says its wrong.
What does God think about gay writes?

In 1CORINTHIANS 6:9-10
Says “do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanders nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”

So now we know homosexual offenders will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Because that is a sin unless they turn from that sin that means stop doing it and receive salvation from the Lord.

In 1JOHN 1:9
Says “if we confess are sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive are sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Why is it wrong to be gay?

In GEN 2:20-24
Says “so the man gave names to all the live stock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the        field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found so the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called woman for she was taken out of man.” for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.”

It never said in that scripture that man and man will become one flesh or woman and woman. It said man and woman, there for if man and man or woman and woman are together it’s a sin. God never said that male and male or female and female was good, but he said male and female were good.

Why is it wrong to take God out of the nation?
Because are nation was founded on Christ, the more we take him out of everything we do and what we believe is why are nation is falling. He can’t bless a nation that won’t let him in or have a say in the choices they make.

In MATTHEW 7:24-27
Says “therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock (Christ). The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock (Christ). But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash”.

 So what were seeing here is we were founded on Christ and God tells us what will happen if we take him out of everything, are land will fall with a big crash. So its so important to keep Gods laws, it’s for are own good, we are seeing the consequences right now from taking God out of everything; Gay rights, killing innocent babies and diseases do to living in these circumstances of sin.

What dose it mean to trust in the Lord

What does it mean to trust in the Lord? It means to have full confidence in Christ and to rest in him.

 

Psalm 91:2 Says “ I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

 

It so easy to forget to trust in God when we get so caught up in are ever day to day situations. We forget to hand are situations over to him on a daily basis. When we must realize God is not asking us to give it to him. It’s commanded, so we are actually sinning when we take on are own problems and we don’t give it to the Lord.

 

In proverbs 3:5-6 “says Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

 

How to trust in the Lord? First make sure you have a relationship with him. Second pray and communicate with him so you know his voice. Third believe what his word says.

 

In Mathew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I’ am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

 

What is the result of trusting in the Lord?

Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

 

So now we know it’s commanded to trust the Lord and we trust in him by having a relationship with him, by spending time in prayer, getting to know his voice. And reading the word and believing what it says. The result of that is having peace that surpasses all understanding.
